Baby banana bread

This banana bread recipe is very basic and adds chocolate chips and nuts, but feel free to add any toppings you want or just nothing to enjoy all the flavor that mashed bananas give you. Trust me when we tell you that this bread is so delicious that you will want to make it again and again.


Ingredients.



  • 2 cups (280 g) wheat flour (all purpose)

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder

  • 3 ripe bananas

  • ½ cup (113 g) butter, at room temperature

  • 1 cup (200 grams) white granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs at room temperature

  • 1 tablespoon milk or buttermilk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 3/4 cup (131 g) chocolate chips (optional)


Instructions


  1. Preheat oven to 325ºF (163ºC)

  2. In a medium bowl mix the wheat flour, salt, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder. Set this mixture aside.

  3. In another bowl, mash the bananas with a potato masher or fork and set them aside.

  4. In a large bowl, mix the butter and sugar until you get a creamy texture, you can do this with a hand mixer or with a spatula. Then, add the eggs one by one and mix well. Then add the milk and then the vanilla extract. Now, add the banana puree and the chocolate chips. Lastly, add the flour mixture and stir until the flour just disappears.

  5. Pour the mixture into a 9 x 5 x 3-inch (23 x 13 x 8 cm) loaf pan that is greased and floured and bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. When the bread is ready let it rest inside the mold on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Then, take it out of the pan and let it cool completely on the wire rack before serving.
